Therapy For Adults
Each individual has an unique set of experiences and circumstances that has shaped their lives and who they have become. Our experiences, for better or worse, imprint on us in ways that create patterns of behavior. Much like how a road map guides the driver to the desired location, our patterns of behaviors are mapped, through our experiences, to get us to a desired outcome. These patterned thoughts, behaviors and beliefs, formed mostly in childhood, become our habituated responses to life’s ever-changing circumstances. When these pathways are taken often enough, they simply become the way that we operate in life.
However, unlike driving the same road to the same place every day, engaging fully in life and relationships takes discovering new routes and learning new ways of being. This is especially true if you continue to run into the same delays, roadblocks, and collisions that have detoured your life time and time again.
In our sessions we will assess how these operating patterns affect the overall health of each aspect of your life and relationships. Through this process we will explore whether or not the current route is the best route for living the life you want to be living. When it is determined by the client that a new route is needed, the process of exploring, re-mapping and moving into greater well-being may begin.
